Sophia Velastegui is the Chief Product Officer at Aptiv, a global technology company focused on making mobility safer, greener, and more connected through advanced safety systems, autonomous driving platforms, and smart vehicle architecture.
Before Aptiv, Velastegui held senior product leadership roles at some of the world's largest technology companies: she was VP of Product at Microsoft (where she led AI and mixed reality products), Head of Product at Meta Reality Labs (leading AR/VR product strategy), and Head of Product for Nest/Google Home at Google.
Her career spans AI, robotics, autonomous driving, augmented reality, and consumer electronics — giving her one of the broadest and most diverse product leadership backgrounds in the technology industry. At Aptiv, she brings this expertise to the automotive industry, where AI-powered safety systems and autonomous driving technology are becoming increasingly critical.
Velastegui holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
